HAMELIN POOL, CARNARVON, GASCOYNE JNCT, QUOBBA

The oldest Stromatolites in the world are found in Western Australia, and date to 3.7 billion years old. As such, the stromatolites provide a record of local environmental changes. Hamelin Pool in Western Australia is one of only four places on earth where living marine stromatolites exist and the location contains by far the biggest colony on earth. The Hamelin Pool stromatolites are oldest and largest living fossils on earth. Stromatolites are considered 'living fossils', part of the Earth's evolutionary history.

Scenery, road to Carnarvon

We took the track from the Carnarvon Town Foreshore out to 1 Mile Jetty. Unfortunately the jetty is closed due to disrepair.

How's this for digs..................

We ventured out to Gascoyne Junction for the day and stopped at Rocky Pool

 Great BBQ

How much grazing land do you want????

View to the Kennedy Ranges from Gascoyne Junction

 Dry Gascoyne River beds

Another trip was out to Quobba Blowholes

The "Aquarium" was a magnificent spot for a swim.

How's this for a perfect Carnarvon sunset while munching on a feed of fish-n-chips
