SOUTH CENTRAL WEST QLD

 We left Woodgate and headed to Bundaberg. By the time we had stocked up on the essentials, Bea was exhausted so we headed for the coast. Bargara was a lovely little spot but all the inns were full and there was no room for us. Inland we went and made it to Smith's Crossing, a free camp on the river at the end of the road because the old road had washed away.

What a ripper!!!!!! Wish we could say our photography is getting better but this was snapped  by a fellow camper giving us some tips.

This peacock kept us company. Mum & chicks were in the bush.

 

Next stop was the Town of 1770. A beautiful spot but completely booked out. On the map to go back.

Everywhere on the coast was booked out so we decided to head west. Overnight rest area at Boyne River.   

We are loving the bush, weather is beaut and meeting some great characters.

 After seeing this we were happy we didn't manage to get river front site this time. Where we camped there were plenty of reminders of the floods a couple of years ago. We were flabbergasted when told of how high the river rose.

 

Next stop was Boynedale Bush Camp. A beautiful free camp by the water. Once again we were taken back by tales of how high the water rose during the floods. That lovely campsite below was under 10 metres of water.

 

Presently we are staying in the caravan park at Bileola, a coal mining town in the Callide Valley.
