Charging up a hill on the Great Northern Highway we suddenly felt a loss of power. We made the top and then went down the other side before pulling over to the side of the road to try and figure out what the flashing light on the dashboard meant. "Engine Diagnostic" light told us to take it to a workshop as soon as possible. As we were about 10 klms outside Bindoon we decided to turn around and head there for help. Going back up the hill, the Chookpen could only manage 20klms per hour, we limped into a roadside rest area and stopped. Being Anzac Day with a long weekend to follow, sharing this roadside rest area with a variety of trucks was home for the next 3 days. To make matters worse, the mighty Roosters got toppled again. Our roadside assist said they would be there Tuesday morning so we bunkered in. The end result was a tow back to Perth to the nearest Mercedes repairer where they fixed the problem, a sensor not properly diagnosed at our last service. All covered under warranty and gives us a story to tell. We are back on the road again and heading up the Great Northern Highway, destination Broome.
